Surfen
Montenegro is not Tarifa with high waves and strong winds. But when
Jugo and Buro are blowing it could become pretty rough. Good Areas
for surfing are the Skutari Lake and the entire coast of the Adriatic.
Diving
Wrecks, archaeological sites and
caves - the underwater world of the Montenegrin coast opens a compete
new dimension of the country. Diving clubs and other institutions
offer excursions and training. Here a small selection of the offers.
Bar: RK Hobotnica
Herceg Novi: Jachting Club, Tauchclub Sebastijan
Sveti Stefan: Deep ‘N’ Blue
Sailing
Bar: Yacht Club Jadran
Herceg Novi: Yacht-Club Herceg Novi, Club Jugole Grakalic
Kotor: Yachtcharter Stari Grad
Waterski
There are two ways for water-skiing
in Montenegro: the classic way behind a boat or in kind of a skilift.
The first one is offered all along the coast. But the boats are not
always there, keep your eyes open. The lift at the Becici Beach near
Budva can't be missed..
Rafting
The Tara River is perfect for wild water
rafting. The second largest canyon offers all different levels of
difficulties. Trips are 1 to 3 days long.
Hiking and Climbing
The name Montenegro is already a
promise: the country of the black mountains offers everything from
hiking to extrem climbing. Maps and guide books are rare. See literature
MTB
Whoever starts bycicling without
training in advance will have a hard time. Differences of altitude of
up to 1000 meters are common. More relaxed is the area around Zabljak.
Paragliding
Paragliders will find opportunities
for their sport everywhere. But rough winds can be dangerous. Start
areas are above Budva near Brajici, on Lovcen and in the Durmitors.
Flying Rubberboat
This flying kite is not exactly
sport equipment, at least not for the passenger, but it is definitely
a lot of fun. Protected with a helmet the boat flies high above the
water to Sveti Stefan and Budva. Starting point is the Beach in Becici.
Offroad
Extreme-Offroad-Lovers would find their fun in the Montenegrin
mountains. But that is not really going along with the concept of an
ecological state. The regular trails are often challenging enough.
Sometimes it is even recommended to walk down the trail first to get
a feeling for the steep and small paths. Whoever wants to find
hidden trails should book a guide like Miroslav Nikezic. The owner
of Discovery-Tours knows the country perfectly. Phone 069/31 02 83 oder 081/63 52 36.
