Igalo
Even in Igalo paralyzed people
will not walk again. But quite a few guests who arrived in a
wheelchair left Igalo on their own legs.
The
village is one of the few in Montenegro that cannot look back on a
several hundred or thousand year long history. Up until the
1960’s, Igalo was not developed at all, but in the following years
it quickly became a health center with an international reputation.
The institute "Dr.Simo Milosevic" has more than 2000 beds.
The doctors treat everything from rheumatism and arthritis to blood
circulation problems, heart disease, and a lot more. The guests
included several prominent people until the Balkan wars broke out.
Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito even had his own villa in the
neighborhood of the health center.
